Player Skin - Marcus Fenix (Gears of War)
Hey All,
Someone made a request for a skin of Marcus Fenix on Minecraft Workbench, so I thought I'd have a go. Here's what I came up with. Download it here.

Who watches the watchmen?
Not me, but Dr. Manhatten shouldn't be too hard to spot given his awesome glow. It's a shame I couldn't give this skin a glow, but I think it's nice none-the-less! If you like it, head on over to Minecraft Workbench to download it.

Hey folks,
Again I was bored and came up with the idea of making an Australian Soldier skin for Minecraft. Nothing special, but here it is! You can download the skin from Minecraft Workbench
It's a simple skin, I didn't want to add too much for fear of making it messy. This guy is just in Aussie camo, helmet, glasses, Redback Terra combat boots, and ammo pouches at the front.

Player Skin - Parker
Hey folks, I suddenly realised the connection between Red Faction and Minecraft after playing with some TNT the other day - the ability to destroy your environment! I, therefore, felt compelled to make a player skin of Parker, the protagonist in Red Faction. It can be downloaded from Minecraft Workbench.

Player Skin - Captain Picard
Here I am again with another player skin for you all. This one is much simpler and a sure win for those who are Star Trek: TNG fans. Without further adieu, here he is, the man himself, Captain Picard!

Player Skin - Optimus Prime
![]() | Again I found myself inspired to create a player skin. I must say, this one was quite challenging. I'm hoping you all agree that I've done the best I can within the limitations. You can get the skin from Minecraft Workbench. |

Player Skin - Agent Smith
Hey all,
I got creative today and decided to make a new player skin. I was talking with friends recently and The Matrix came up, so with that freshly in my mind I made this skin - Agent Smith.

Project - Logo in Minecraft
I know it's been a while since I blogged about my project to create my logo in Minecraft, but with good reason. Below are to videos, Part 1 and 2 of the series in my endeavour to record a new game from scratch with the sole purpose of making the logo. I've just started constructing the logo itself, I need much, much more wool before it is complete. Please watch, and enjoy, the videos below.

Minecraft SMP on the Reddit server (c.nerd.nu)
Lately I've been playing around on the SMP server c.nerd.nu. This is a creative server, so I got creative. There are also other servers run by nerd.nu, so go on over and visit their site to learn more. The below YouTube video shows two of my creations in BigTown - a giant Paddle Pop and a strand of DNA.
Australia Day!
So, today is Australia day, so for Australia day I went ahead and created a giant Australian flag. This flag is 100x50m, so that's 5000 blocks!

Project - Logo in Minecraft
So, I've got another project in the works, too; to create the Cube Root of Creation logo in Minecraft!
This might seem easy, but I will be doing it using dyed wool - and legitimately, no inventory editing. I will need a whole bunch of ink sacks, bonemeal, roses and dandelions. I will also be starting this project on a new world and videoing the whole thing. Below is a picture of the logo I will be using as reference for creating the final product in-game.

Project - DS-1 Orbital Battle Station
So, with my previous project complete, it's time to start a new one. This time it's going to take a bit longer to complete.
I'll be starting a 1:1000 scale Death Star. Most sources say the first Death Star is approximately 140km in diameter. However, I will be working with the diameter of 163km, making the radius of my in-game version 81.5 blocks. This will allow me to have a single centre block when I start to construct the sphere.
I will also create DS-2 (as seen in Return of the Jedi) on my way to completing DS-1.
I'll be working with a Google SketchUp model I found as my main reference, along with a few pictures seen below.

Project - 64x64 Monster Trap - COMPLETE
I've completed the monster trap project. In addition to roofing off the trap and creating the pit for the monsters to fall (and die) in, I created two viewing areas (dark, but safe from spawns) to view the monsters inside the trap before they fall.
There were hiccups, however. Monsters were spawning on top of the trees underneath the trap due to the dark shadow created by it. I'd already lit the ground but did not anticipate monsters spawning on treetops! Additionally, monsters spawned on top of the trap at night, so I had to light the top of the trap structure as well.
With this complete, monsters were falling to their death at an average rate of 15.3 per minute, that's almost 920 per hour. I hope you enjoy the screenshots, I'll post a video at a later stage.

Project - 64x64 Monster Trap
So, my current project, started yesterday, is a 64x64 block monster trap - that's 4096 blocks just for the base!
Given that the maximum monster spawn radius, to my knowledge, is 128 blocks from the player, this should cover only a quarter of that area, yet it's still quite massive as you can see in the screenshot below. Progress is slow, but getting there. I've completed the main workings of the trap. Now I just need to roof it in (another 4096 blocks to place!), and make sure the gravity trap is high enough (28 blocks) to kill the monsters.
In the top-left of the shot, you'll see I've created a schematic. Each spawn area is 8x8 (water flows 7 blocks from the source). So I've been able to place water source blocks in all the corners to make sure all water flows to the centre.
